Dr. Maria Chuquer
MD FRCPC | CEO | Medical Director
Dr. Maria Chuquer is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada in Anesthesiology and has obtained advanced certifications in Medical Aesthetics, Cosmetic Dermatology and Weight Management. In the academic field, Dr. Chuquer is an Assistant Professor at the University of Calgary Cumming School of Medicine.

Throughout her career, she has been engaged in multicentre clinical trials as a clinical investigator.
In her private practice at Xthetics, Dr. Chuquer provides a variety of cutting edge and advanced non-surgical cosmetic treatments and is the Medical Director of the Sculptd Life Weight Management Program.
Her focus is on practicing evidence based medicine combined with the art of medical aesthetics.
In her constant search for innovative and cutting-edge technologies, Dr. Chuquer aims to offer naturally beautiful and nuanced results identifying the finest, tailored solutions for each of her patients’ goals and problems.

With her husband and young children, Dr. Chuquer calls Calgary home, where she loves living, working, and welcoming new patients to her practice!

Quin Mayers-Gordon
Clinic Manager
Quin completed her Bachelor of Science in Computer Science focused on front-end development at the University of Calgary. Quin combines technical expertise with a keen understanding of customer experience to create impactful marketing strategies. This unique perspective is further enhanced by over a decade of high-volume managerial marketing experience, where Quin has successfully executed campaigns that resonate with target audiences.

In addition to technical skills, Quin has a deep passion for fashion and beauty, having worked with leading brands such as Victoria’s Secret and Lululemon. This experience not only enriches Quin’s marketing approach but also provides valuable insights into consumer behavior and brand positioning. By leveraging this background, Quin effectively understands and executes the business model, ensuring that the company remains at the forefront of the aesthetics industry while fostering a culture of creativity and innovation.
Dr. Pauwlina Cyca
Physician Injector
Dr. Pauwlina Cyca is a physician and pharmacist with extensive experience as a business owner, operations specialist, executive director, and senior regulatory advisor. With a national perspective and multi-practice experience, Dr. Cyca has owned and operated several clinical pharmacies and has provided resources to over 384 pharmacy businesses. She has formed strategic partnerships to enhance the economics, operational efficiency, and clinical skills of these businesses. She is specializing in general practice oncology medicine with additional focus on patient recovery.

Kiana Hajyouni
Medical Aesthetician | Laser Technician Specialist
Kiana has been a certified Laser Specialist for over 4 years, and has been specializing in a variety of different treatments all tailored to different skin and body types. Over the past couple years, she has been perfecting her practice in everything lasers; such as Laser Hair Removal, Skin Tightening, Body Contouring, Tattoo Removal, Spider Vein Removal and more. Kiana is also a certified medical aesthetician and trichologist where she helps her clients achieve healthy, glowing skin through luxury facials, micro-needling, chemical peels, and scalp and hair health consultations. Kiana’s well rounded experience in skin and skin care ensures her clients achieve incredible results with every visit.

Scarlet Girardin
Client Relations Administrator
Scarlet brings a wealth of medical and administrative experience to her role as Client Relations Administrator at Xthetics.
Her career began in healthcare as a Health Care Aide, where she worked closely with trauma patients and developed a deep commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care for a few years. She later advanced into the role of Unit Clerk, where she refined her skills in organization, communication, and clinical coordination. Building on this foundation, Scarlet went on to manage a busy Physio/Chiro clinic for three years, gaining extensive experience in leadership, operations, and client support.
At Xthetics, Scarlet combines her medical knowledge with her administrative expertise to ensure every client receives a seamless and welcoming experience. She is passionate about helping others feel their best, and takes pride in supporting clients throughout their aesthetic journey.

Outside of work, Scarlet is an enthusiastic animal lover. She enjoys spending time with her pets (21 scale/fur babies!) and will happily share stories about them with anyone who asks.
Anny Tam
Nurse Injector
Anny Tam is a highly skilled Registered Nurse and Aesthetic Injector with a strong background in both surgical nursing and medical aesthetics. With over 17 years of nursing experience in hospital and clinical settings, she brings a wealth of expertise in patient care, procedural precision, and aesthetic artistry.
Her journey in aesthetics began in 2023 at prominent Medical Aesthetics clinics in Calgary, offering expert injectable treatments such as Botox, dermal fillers, PRP/PRF, Belkyra, and Skinvive, exosomes, microneedling, and IV therapy.

Anny’s extensive background in operating rooms, recovery units, and pediatric surgical care at hospitals like Alberta Children’s Hospital and Peter Lougheed Centre has given her a deep understanding of facial anatomy, musculature, and vascular structures—critical knowledge that enhances her precision in aesthetic procedures. Her passion for plastic surgery and patient-centered care led her to take on an educator role in specialized plastic surgery nursing.

Carmen Edwards, BSc., FNP
Functional Nutrition Practitioner
Carmen attended the University of British Columbia as well as the University of Guelph and graduated with a degree in Nutritional Sciences, specializing in human nutrition and disease prevention. Carmen later went on to receive her certification as a Functional Nutrition Practitioner. Carmen has worked in a functional health setting for over 20 years, working alongside physicians who utilize a functional approach to treating disease and restoring health.
Carmen believes in a root-caused approach with personalized solutions to optimizing wellness. There is a big difference between being “free of disease” and “living with optimal health”.
Carmen is passionate about sharing knowledge with clients; understanding your body is the key to transformation. Her focus is on practising scientific-based solutions to optimize wellness.

Carmen is the owner and founder of her own practice in Canmore , Alberta and is excited to join the team of Xthetics Calgary as a Functional Nutrition Consultant.
